Every year, Our Heroes of Everyday Life® are honored for the work they do to help others. We are extremely proud of the good our Heroes have done.

Honoring employees who make a difference in the fight against hunger

Each year, the Sodexo Foundation recognizes Sodexo employees who invest their time, talent, and service spirit in helping those at-risk of hunger in the United States. Nominated by a colleague, friend, or employer, selected Heroes are honored by the Sodexo Foundation and a donation is made to their local hunger-related charities of choice.

What criteria are used in the selection process?
To be considered, a nominee's activities must have had a demonstrated impact:

How has the nominee changed his or her community for the better?
How many people have been helped?
Has the nominee motivated others to join the fight against hunger?
How innovative was his or her approach to the problem of hunger?
Was his or her approach educational in any way?

Why are we giving an award for this?
Sodexo is committed to making a significant impact in ending hunger. We want to recognize those Sodexo employees who have helped some of the 50 million people who are at-risk of hunger in the United States. Their efforts make us proud and we strongly believe they should be officially and publicly acknowledged for their dedication, leadership and contributions to their communities. Added consideration is given to applicants fighting childhood hunger.
