Feeding Our Future®

Feeding Our Future® is a feeding program where Sodexo partners with community hunger relief organizations to provide meals to children in need who are out of school for the summer. This resourceful program donates food and labor necessary to provide nutritious meals to children in need.

During the school year, 22 million kids receive free and reduced-price meals, but when school lets out for the summer, only 4 million participate in summer meal programs. We created Feeding Our Future® to help close the gap and ensure children get the nutritious meals they need to thrive.

In 1997 Sodexo launched Feeding Our Future in three cities (Chicago, San Francisco and Washington, DC) and served 25,000 meals in its first year. Since its inception, the program has provided more than 4.5 million meals to children nationwide. Feeding Our Future owes its success to the longstanding partnerships between Sodexo, our client and vendor partners, and local hunger-relief organizations.

Feeding Our Future focuses on:

  • Providing free and nutritious meals to children at risk of hunger during the summer months
  • Securing the support of resources and partners to assure program sustainability
  • Generating awareness and support for problems and solutions related to the issue of childhood hunger in America
